LE MARS, Iowa -- Mary Theresa "Molly" (Gunther) Embernate, 60, of Honokaa, Hawaii, formerly of Le Mars, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at the North Hawaii Community Hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Dodo Mortuary, Inc. - Hilo Branch.

The former Mary Theresa Gunther was born Sept. 8, 1944, in Le Mars, the daughter of Claire and Mary Frances (Marx) Gunther.

She was a retired teacher for Honokaa Elementary School and most recently was an employee of Wal-Mart in Hilo, Hawaii.

She was a member of Honokaa Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and a past member of the Hawaii State Teachers Association. She was a scout leader for the Girl Scouts of America.

Survivors include her husband, Benjamin "Ben" Embernate of Honokaa; two daughters, Malia and Mele Embernate, both of Honokaa; two stepdaughters, Bennylynn and Tim Embernate-Dias of Colorado, and Tanya and Vaughn Chong of Honolulu, Hawaii; her mother, Mary Frances Gunther of Le Mars; six brothers and their wives, Claire and Beverly Gunther of Missouri, John and Janet Gunther of Missouri, Philip and Judy Gunther of Minnesota, James and Sue Gunther of Le Mars, Mark and Barb Gunther of Muscatine, Iowa, and Douglas and Connie Gunther of San Diego, Calif.; five grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Claire.
