Mary C. Brennan, 91, of Wauwautosa, Wis., formerly of Sioux City and Sycamore, Ill., died Monday, March 11, 2002, in Wisconsin.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at The Church of Saint Mary in Sycamore, with the Rev. Frank J. Timar, MSC, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, with a wake service at 4:30 p.m., at Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home in Sycamore.
Mrs. Brennan was born March 1, 1911, in Sioux City, the daughter of James and Mary Dillon. She attended St. Joseph Grade School, Cathedral High School for Girls and Midwest College of Commerce. In June 1994, she was awarded an honorary bachelor of arts degree from Briar Cliff College in Sioux City.
She married Milton F. Brennan on Jan. 30, 1937, at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars, Iowa. Her family moved to Sycamore, Ill., in 1946, where her husband operated the Brennan Cattle Co. in Kirkland, Ill., for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Kathleen (Patrick) Ronan of Whitefish Bay, Wis., and Mary Ann Brennan of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; five sons, Patrick J. (Katie) Brennan of Kirkland, Michael W. (Adrienne) Brennan and William R. (Jo Ann) Brennan, all of Santa Fe, N.M., John Paul (Belton) Brennan of Atlanta, Ga., and Thomas J. (Jane) Brennan of Eau Claire, Wis.; 16 grandchildren, Jeannie (James) Burke, Brian Ronan, Jennifer, Michael (Mia), Timothy, Jason, Duncan, Colleen, Brigid, Kevin, Sean, Joseph, James, Andria, Eibhlin and Siobhan Brennan; a great-granddaughter, Olivia Celine Brennan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milton in 1973; a granddaughter, Maureen Brennan; two sisters, Emily B. Tritz and Eileen J. Dillon; and three brothers, Edward J., James J. and Joseph P. Dillon.
