BORNHOLTZ, HANSEN, ADCOCK

MOVILLE, Iowa -- Fredrich William Bornholtz, 97, of Moville died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center in Kingsley, Iowa.

Services will be held at a later date. The body was cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville.

Mr. Bornholtz was born July 21, 1904, east of Hinton, Iowa on the family farm in Plymouth County, the son of Emil A. and Anna Catherine (Hansen) Bornholtz.

He married Myrth Adcock on April 14, 1930, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sioux City. He moved to Moville in 1925, where he remained a life long resident. He attended Sioux City Barber College and was a barber for 57 years at "Fred's Shop" in Moville. He retired in 1983. Myrth died Jan. 18, 2000.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville. He was the Moville Centennial King in 1987.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Evan and Dorothy Bornholtz of Grand Blanc, Mich.; five grandchildren, Lisa Prestwich, Kara Edwards, Gavin Bornholtz, Skye Bornholtz and Steven Bornholtz; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mary K. Wessler; a sister, Ida Andrews; and a brother, George Bornholtz.
