KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Robert Gene Badgerow, 79, of Harrison, Ark., formerly of Kingsley, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Rohde-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley, with the Rev. Paul Evans of Kingsley United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery.

Robert was born June 4, 1924, in Woodbury County, Iowa, the son of Bert and Lillian (Bruce) Badgerow. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1945 to 1946.

After his honorable discharge, he married Carol Higginbotham on May 9, 1946. He was a farmer and bus driver. He moved to Harrison in 1973, where he worked for Flexsteel for 22 years before retiring in 1996.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine Orders.

He is survived by his wife, Carol of Harrison; a half sister, Thelma Arnold of Diamond City, Ark.; two sons, Bruce Badgerow of Kingsley, and John Badgerow and his wife, Myrna of Houma, La.; three daughters and their husbands, Judy and Roger Muecke of Sioux City, Debra and Robert Reeg of Harrison, Ark., and Bonnie and Mike Evans of Harrison; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a grandson.
