LE MARS, Iowa -- Keshia Rose Anderson, 17, of Le Mars died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. in Le Mars, with the Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with the family present after 6 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars. Classmates are asked to assemble on the grass on the north side of the church at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Keshia Rose Anderson was born Jan. 4, 1987, in Storm Lake, Iowa, to David P. and Sharon (Mummert) Anderson. She was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. She received her education through the Le Mars Community School District. She would have been a member of the Le Mars Community High School class of 2005.
She was involved with the LCHS music department, Big Red Band, Thespians, National Honor Society, S.A.V.E., Children's Theater and the St. John's Youth Group. She loved Christian music, school, church activities, reading and playing the piano. She also loved little children. She was an ardent fan of the Minnesota Twins.
She was known for her strong faith, her caring nature and often put others before her own needs. She will be missed by her many family, friends and classmates.
Survivors include her family, Sharon and Joseph Nieman; her brothers and sisters, Joshua, Emily and Zoe; grandparents, Berna Anderson of Frederic, Wis., and Clayton and Jean Nieman of Mesa, Ariz.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, David P. Anderson; maternal grandparents, Lyle and M. Kay Mummert; paternal grandfather, David M. Anderson; and two paternal aunts, Dava Anderson and Deb Anderson.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Koch, Chris Koch, Dr. Mark Stelzer, Brian Michaelson, Seth Delutri and Tom Gates. Honorary pallbearers will be Joslyn Delutri, Danielle Den Ouden, Emily Hawkins, JoEllen Schneider, Emily Krause and Ashley Koch.
