LE MARS, Iowa – Paul G. Beeck, 85, of LeMars, died Friday, August 20, 1999, at a Sioux City hospital of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A., with the Reverend Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Mauer-Johnson funeral home in LeMars.

Mr. Beeck was born November 7, 1913, on the family farm in Plymouth County, near Akron, Iowa, the son of Chris and Meta (Mangelson) Beeck. He attended country school and Liberty Township through the eighth grade.

He was baptized in St. John's Lutheran Church, Preston Township, and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church near Merrill and 1930.

He married Esther Frerichs, January 7, 1937. The couple farmed until 1976, when they moved to LeMars. He also worked for Sioux Tools for 19 years. He enjoyed fishing, dancing and walking.

Survivors include two daughters, Virg and her husband, Maynard Johnson and Paulette Detloff, all of LeMars; and two sons and their wives, Donald and Judy, and Rick and Tammy, all of LeMars; two sisters, Elsie and Ella Frerichs, both of Akron; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther, who died April 12, 1993; two brothers, Chris and Edward; three sisters, Lilly Albert, Ida Goergen, and Rosie Feauto; and a son-in-law, Randall Detloff.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie and Steve Beeck, Leonard Koch, and Bob and Randy Frerichs and Don Featuo.
