Joseph H. Greene
Joseph H. Greene, 41, rural Sioux City, retired mechanical welder, died Monday, December 12, 1988, at his residence after a short illness of cancer.
General was at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, with Reverend Robert L. Edwards officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery with military services conducted by Casper Post 477, American Legion and Hinton.
Mr. Greene was born June 3, 1947, at Sioux City and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Hinton high school in 1967. And June 9, 1970, he married Linda Sue Giesler at Sioux City. He was a mechanical welder for Steffen Body Co. for nine years and Schaeff-Namco for four years, retiring because of poor health.
Mr. Greene was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and American Legion of Hinton. A sergeant in the US Army, he served two tours in Vietnam as a door gunner and a field wireman.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, Scott and Jeremy, both at home; his parents, Harold and Anna Greene of Sioux City and three brothers, Victor and Steven, both of Sioux City and Robert of Hinton.
