Mrs. Warren Mayer

Mrs. Warren Mayer, 62, of Yankton, died Monday (July 5, 1982), at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John’s Lutheran Church. Rev. James F. Hawley Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday with a prayer service at 8 p.m. in the Ray Funeral Home in Yankton.

Mrs. Mayer, the former, L. Elaine Buss, was born Dec. 9, 1919, in LeMars. She was raised in the LeMars community and graduated from LeMars high school. She was formerly employed by the ASCS office in LeMars.

She married Warren Mayer April 12, 1949, in LeMars. They resided in Iowa Falls and Orange City, and moved to Yankton in 1958.

Mrs. Mayer was a member of St. John’s Lutheran church, its ladies aid and other church organizations.

Survivors are her husband; two sons, Allen and Russell, both of Yankton; one daughter, Mrs. Lonnie (Laurie) LaCroix, of Yankton; her father and stepmother, Edward and Ethel Buss of LeMars; one brother Vincent, of Long Beach, Calif., and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother.
