Mrs. Gary (Sharon) Peterson, 31, rural LeMars, died Saturday (Oct. 21, 1978) at St. Luke’s hospital, Sioux City, after an illness of several months with cancer. She had been at the hospital nine weeks.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Hanthorn officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars, under direction of the Mauer Funeral Home.

Sharon Berniece Peterson was born Dec. 25, 1946, at Beresford, S.D., to Elner and Berniece Johnson Shogren. She graduated in 1964 from Beresford High School. After her marriage she lived in Sioux City for three years before moving to a farm south of LeMars.

Her marriage to Gary Peterson took place March 20, 1965, at Dalesburg Baptist Church, rural Beresford. She was preceded in death by her father, Elner.

Survivors are her husband; children, daughters Dawn, 12, and Lisa, 7, and son, Heath, 22 months; her mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Shogren, Beresford; brothers Roger of Dike, Iowa, and Richard of Sioux Falls, and her grandmother, Mabel Johnson of Beresford.
