Mrs. Bess Foley, wife of the late P. A. Foley of Akron, passed away early Saturday morning at the Sacred Heart hospital in LeMars after a year’s illness of heart trouble.
Mrs. Foley was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Carel. She was born and educated in LeMars. After graduating from LeMars high school she attend Clark college in Dubuque and taught school until her marriage to Pat Foley March 7, 1935.
Mrs. Foley was active in club and church work and spent much time in travel. Her husband preceded her in death April 6, 1939.
She is survived by one brother, Leo W. Carel, of Kingsley; two nieces and one nephew, Mrs. Maxine Borges, of Miami, Fla., Bonita and Kenneth Carel, of Kingsley.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Patrick’s Catholic church in Akron. Interment was in the Akron cemetery beside her husband.
