Obituaries
Hazel R. Johnson

Funeral services for Hazel (Mrs. Chris) Johnson, 67, LeMars, Plymouth county native and lifelong area resident, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran church, Craig.

Rev. William Gregerson will officiate and burial will be in St. John's cemetery at Craig under direction fo the Mauer funeral home.

A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Chris, Oct. 16, 1980; a borther, Wilbur and a sister, Pearl Johnson.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran church, Craig.

Mrs. Johnson died Thursday at St. Luke's hospital, Sioux City, after a long illness. She had been hospitalized since Jan. 15.

Hazel Ruth Johnson was born Oct. 12, 1914, near Merrill to William and Gertrude Van Dyke Tullis. She lived in the Merrill area until her marriage when she moved to Craig, living there until she retired to LeMars in 1976.

Her marriage to Christian Edward Johnson took place Nov. 15, 1933, at Merrill.

Survivors are a daughter, Ruth Ann Johnson, LeMars; two brothers, Frank Tullis, Sioux City, and Lloyd Tullis, Hinton, and two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Mona) Lund, LeMars, and Mrs. Ray (Lilla Mae) Marine, Sioux City.
