Miss Matilda Detloff and Mr. Sam Uthe were united in marriage on
Wednesday afternoon. The ceremony took place at the Detloff home north
of town at five o'clock in the afternoon and was attended by relatives
and friends of the contracting parties. The ceremony was performed by
Rev. Carl Kaup, pastor of the Emanuel Evangelical Church. Miss Annie
Detloff, a sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and Ed Riter of
Struble attended the groom.After the ceremony the young people received hearty congratulations and
the wedding party sat down to a sumptuous wedding supper.The young people have a wide acquaintance and are members of well known
families, the bride being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Detloff who
live on their fine farm a few miles north of town. The groom is a
popular young business man and is connected with the Kehrberg company of
this city being head of their grocery department and a stockholder in
the company.The young people will reside on Clark street in the pretty Messick
cottage recently purchased by them.The congratulations of many friends follow them to their new home.
