NORTON-BRAUN WEDDING MAY 21, 1946

Before an altar decorated with Cala lilies, Miss Marjorie Norton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Norton, became the bride of Eugene Braun, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Braun of Merrill. The double ring ceremony, performed by Rev. Zeno Reising of Merrill, took place May 21, at 8:00 o’clock at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Ellendale.

The bride wore a white satin dress fashioned with sweetheart neckline and leg-of-mutton sleeves that came to a point at the wrist. The skirt was net over satin entrain. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a beaded coronet. She wore a gold locket and carried a sterling rosary, gifts of the groom. Her bouquet was of talisman roses.

The bridesmaid, Geneva Braun, a sister of the groom, wore a dress of blue lace with sweetheart neckline and puff sleeves. The skirt was chiffon satin. She wore a shoulder length veil which was held in place blue satin ribbon, and carried a bouquet of pink carnations and white sweet peas.

The mothers of the bride and groom wore navy blue dresses and corsages of sweet peas and roses.

Herbert Norton, brother of the bride, acted as best man.

A wedding breakfast was held t the home of the groom’s parents and a dinner for 21 guests was held at the home of the bride’s parents. A 3-tier wedding cake baked by the groom’s mother was the center piece of the dining room table. Miss Irene Jones of Independence, Ia., was dining room hostess, and the waitresses were Miss Ruth Meis of LeMars, and Miss Norma Peduzzi of Merrill. The dinner was prepared by Mrs. Joe Meis and Mrs. Mainard Stinton of LeMars.

The bride is a graduate of LeMars High School and has been teaching in Plymouth county schools. The groom is a graduate of Merrill High School and is now employed by the Peduzzi Oil Co. of Merrill.

After a wedding trip to points north, the couple will reside at 601 Fourth Ave. S.E., LeMars.
