Buryanek-Diediker Vows In Westfield
Westfield Special: White and orchid glads and white tapers decorated the altar of the Westfield Congregational church for the wedding at 8 o'clock Thursday evening, Aug. 28, when Miss Vera Buryanek became the bride of Donald Diediker.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Bessie Buryanek of Westfield and her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Diediker of Allen, Neb. Rev. O. F. Elbe performed the double-ring ceremony. Mrs. Reed Richardson of Kingsley was pianist and $he accompanied Mrs. O. F. Elbe who sang "Because " and "The Load's Prayer. " The bride entered the church with her uncle, Albert Kohout of Chicago. Her gown of candlelight satin was fashioned with a tiny collar and scalloped yoke of Chantilly lace, princess style bodice and bouffant skirt with a circle train. Her Juliet cap of Chantilly lace and satin braid held her laced edged veil of illusion. She carried a shower of white roses. Mrs. Robert Phillips of Akron was her sister's matron of honor. Her gown was orchid Chantilly lace over taffeta styled with a low winged neckline, circular skirt, and short-winged sleeves. Miss Dorothy Marx of Rockwell City was the bridesmaid. She wore a mint green Chantilly lace gown made similar to the other attendants. They wore lace mitts and floral and net headdresses. Their colonial bouquets were glads. Flower girl was the bride's niece, Betty Wetrosky of Hinton, who wore a mint green organdy formal. The bridegroom's nephew, Tommy Gries, was ringbearer. Candle lighters were the bride's twin sisters, Mary and Marlis. Their gowns were orchid nylon. Best man was the bridegroom's brother, Duane Diediker of Allen, Neb. Darrel Diediker was a groomsman, and ushering were Lyle Jensen of Hinton and Lyle Sharp of Elk Point, S. D.
A reception for 100 guests was held after the ceremony in the home of the bride's mother. The four-tier cake was decorated in the bridal colors. The bride's mother wore navy blue with navy accessories and Mrs. Diediker appeared in forest green with black accessories. Their corsages were red roses.
Reception hostesses were Mrs. Philip Beaubein, sr., Mrs. Arthur Hasenbank, Mrs. Harley Caskey, Mrs. Clifford Faust and Mrs. H. D. Black. Mrs. Darrel Diediker cut the cake and Mrs. Tom Kenny and Phylis Welch took care of the gifts. Miss Juanita Schultz of Sioux City had charge of the guest book.
The bride formerly school in Council Bluffs and Le Mars. She was graduated from Westfield Consolidated school and Buena Vista College. The bride ¬ groom attended Kingsley and Sioux City schools and is now farming. After a wedding trip to Minnesota and Wisconsin, the couple will make their home on a farm near Martinsburg, Neb. The bride's traveling suit was light grey with bright rust accessories
