CARL AHRENDTS OBSERVE EVENT
Well Known Residents of County Married Fifty Years Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl J. Ahrendt observed their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, when a group of relatives and friends gathered to help them celebrate the occasion.

Mr. and Mrs. Ahrendt were married in the Grant township Lutheran church on April 17, 1893 (correction year was 1894). The ceremony was performed by Rev. Kleinlein. They are the parents of six children, all of who were present except Carl Jr., who is now stationed in England. He wrote a letter for the occasion.

The guest list included Rev. and Mrs. Bunge; Mr. and Mrs. John Binneboese (Mary) and sons of Hinton; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zieger (Sophia) and family of Lawrence, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Harm Kruse (Louise) and family of LeMars; Ida Ahrendt at home; and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Onken (Bertha) and daughter of LeMars; Mrs. August Mueck of Hinton; John Westhoff of LeMars; Mrs. F. Ahrendt and Emma of LeMars; Mrs. Minnie Westhoff and Clara of LeMars; and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Kruse of LeMars.

There are nine grandchildren, of whom eight were present.

During the afternoon the grandchildren sang songs and gave several recitations. Rev. Bunge gave a fitting address. At five o’clock a delicious supper was served. The table was prettily appointed with a wedding cake and two baskets of yellow roses.
