RABY – DEWEY
Miss Dorothy Raby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Raby of Merrill, Ia., and Duane Dewey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Dewey of Westfield, Ia., were married October 5, 1949, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Walter A. Voss officiating. Miss Norma Jean Bliss was soloist.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white bridal satin and imported lace, styled with a long train. Her veil of lace and illusion, mantilla style, fell from a crown of seed pearls and she carried white roses and an orchid. Miss Francis Pridie was maid of honor, and Mrs. Jack McInnis, bridesmaid. They wore gowns of sapphire blue and coral pink satin, respectively, with hooped skirts and off shoulder necklines. Headdresses of ostrich feathers matched their gowns and they carried colonial bouquets. Carol Raby was ring bearer and Carol Dewey, flower girl.
Jack McInnis and Louis Hoffman were bridegroom attendants and Dawayne Raby, Randall Knapp and Bud Lias were ushers.
The wedding reception was held in the church parlors, with members of the church women’s association assisting.
