Mr. and Mrs. Nic Ries were married twenty-five years ago last Friday, and a few of their friends being aware of the fact, gathered at their home in the evening and celebrated the silver anniversary. A very pleasant social evening was passed and Mr. and Mrs. Nies were the recipients of hearty congratulations. Mr. and Mrs. Nies were married in Le Mars and it was the first marriage ceremony performed by John Welliver, on his assumption of the office of justice of the peace.

Mrs. Ries was Miss Mary Baack. Mr. and Mrs. Ries received a beautiful set of dishes and other presents as a token of the esteem in which they are held by their friends.
