A very pretty wedding took place in Leeds, Iowa, at St. Michael's Catholic church, Saturday morning, February 1, 1930 at eight
o'clock when Miss Mary Theresa Garvey, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. [William Thomas and Elizabeth Hayden Garvey]Garvey, 4134 Van Buren Ave., Sioux City, became the bride of Andy P. [Andrew Patrick] Keenan, the oldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Keenan, also of Sioux City, but formerly of here.William Keenan, brother of the groom was groomsman and Miss Leona Gordon was the bridesmaid, both are of Sioux City. The bride looked charming in a beige crepe dress with accessories to match. The bridesmaid wore a dress of blue. The groom and groomsman wore suits of blue.
Immediately after the ceremony the bridal couple went to the home of the bride's parents where a wedding breakfast was served. They later went to the Canton tea garden where a four course wedding dinner was served to immediate relatives of the couple.
Later in the day the happy couple left for Kalamazoo, Michigan, where Mr. Keenan has a position.
The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W T. Garvey, of Leeds, she attended the Cathedral high school and graduated in 1927. She is a very charming girl and has a large host of friends who wish her every Joy.
The groom is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Keenan of Union township. He farmed in Union township until 1924 when he sold out and moved to Sioux City. Mr. Keenan known in the states of Nebraska and South Dakota, as Andy, on account of the widely known dance orchestra, "Andy's Canton Tea Garden Orchestra," accorded one of the hottest in the city. They are now playing an indefinite engagement in Sioux City. Friends of Sioux City and surrounding territory are sorry to see Andy leave but all join In wishing him and his charming bride a very happy wedded life. Congratulations are extended.
