Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Borchers of 327 3rd Avenue NW, LeMars, Iowa, will observe their golden wedding anniversary on Wednesday, March 2, when they will be hosts at Open House at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Preston township. Mr. and Mrs. Borchers will receive their friends from 2 to 5 o’clock. No invitations are being sent for the open house. (Photo by Naef)

The six children of the couple, all of whom will be present are Mrs. Laurence Eilts, of Ireton, Mrs. Alfred Witt of Hawarden, Ed Borchers and Herman Borchers, both of Akron, Jack Borchers and Mrs. Lyle Stephens of LeMars. There are eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, all of whom will be present except one grandson, Virgil Borchers, who is in the Armed Forces.

A dinner will be served at 6:00 o’clock in the church parlor for the immediate family and close relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Borchers were married March 2, 1905, at the home of the bride’s parents in Preston township, Plymouth County. They made their home on their farm in Preston township until 1945, when they moved to their present home in LeMars.
