GENEVIEVE MAXEY BECOMES A BRIDE
Weds Melvin Wilkens of Struble

Nuptial vows were exchanged by Miss Genevieve Maxey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Maxey of Sioux City, and Melvin Wilkens, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Wilkens of Struble, Saturday, in the parsonage of the First Presbyterian Church in Sioux City. Rev. Theodore Lilley officiated.

The bride chose a street length dress for her wedding. Her flowers were gardenias and sweet peas in a shoulder arrangement. Miss Shirley Gronemeyer of Ireton was bridesmaid, frocked in a beige ensemble and wearing a corsage similar to that of the bride’s. Vernon Ludwigs attended Mr. Wilkens.

Members of the wedding party were entertained at a luncheon later in Scribbon’s tea shop.

After a short wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Wilkens will live at Struble.

The Maxey family formerly lived in Perry township and later in LeMars, until recently, when they moved to Sioux City.
