EXCHANGE VOWS HERE ON MONDAY

Miss Lois Barinksy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Barinsky, of Hawarden, and Lester C. Janssen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Janssen of Ireton, were united in marriage at the Trinity Lutheran parsonage in Hawarden at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon. Rev. C.A. Burkhart officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride wore a grey wool suit with black accessories. Miss Judith Witt, the bride’s cousin, and Miss Velma Janssen, the bridegroom’s sister, her attendants, wore black and white check suits with accessories to match. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Walter Janssen and John J. Barinsky, a brother of the bride.

Following the ceremony, the bridal party went to Sioux City, where a wedding dinner was enjoyed.

The bride spent her younger days on a farm, south of Hawarden, but for the past several years she has lived in town with her parents. She is a graduate of Hawarden High School and for the past several years she has been a successful teacher in the Plymouth county schools. The bridegroom has spent most of his life near Ireton, but for the past four years he has been employed on a farm in Plymouth county. He will leave Sunday for Fort Snelling, Minn., to join the armed forces.
