Pretty Wedding In Siebens Home
Glen Gabel and Rena Siebens United In Marriage
A pretty wedding took place Wednesday afternoon, August 24, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. Siebens when Miss Rena Siebens became the bride of Glen Gabel. The Rev. Theo. Meyer read the service in the presence of relatives and friends. Mrs. Carl Witt, cousin of the bride, played the nuptial music which included the Lohengrin bridal chorus.
The ceremony took place under an arch of vines, golden glow and white bells.
The bride was becomingly attired in a dress of white lace over satin of princess lines and she carried a handkerchief which her mother carried at her wedding. Her flowers were a bouquet of yellow tea roses and dainty white flowers.
Following the ceremony a duet, "Resting In His Love", was sung by Martha and Chris Siebens, sister and brother of the bride.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. And Mrs. E. Siebens. She has been organist at the Preston Township church 14 years and also a chorus leader and Sunday School teacher.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Gabel and is a graduate of the LeMars High School and since then has been employed at home.
Assisting at the wedding reception which followed the service were Mrs. Harvey Taylor, Mrs. Gene Gabel, Miss Lois Gabel, Miss Martha Siebens, Miss Frieda Bergemann and Mrs. Louis Kruse. The tables were decorated in the bride's chosen colors, yellow and white.
The newly married couple left Thursday for a trip to the Black Hills and Minnesota. Upon their return they will make their home on the groom's farm in Johnson Township.
