Dear Friend,
Being now at leisure I will now answer your welcome letter which I received some time ago.
We are well now, as for myself I am as well as ever and even better than before. The weather here is not very warm for this time of the year at all, so it really does seem as though we would never get any summer.
They are now going to run the Electric Fountain in Lincoln Park, it will run for the first time this year last Friday night, it is very beautiful too see at night with all the different colors and will be run every Tuesday and Friday of each week until the season is over.
You have no doubt heard of the horrible fire
they had in New York on that church excursion. I seen in the tonight paper that they have now recovered 900 bodies. It is much worse that our Chicago fire which swallowed so many lives.Well I know no more news of interest to you so I will now close with kind regards from all to all.
Your friend,
Edw. J.
