I am a great-grandson (Daniel Charles McCarty) of John D. McCarty, grandson of Daniel James McCarty and son of Daniel John "Jack" McCarty. The three amigos rooted in Texas. Granddad died on 26 Nov 1965 at the Union Printers Home at Colorado Springs and dad drown in our stock pond 19 May 1979 while baiting a "trotline." Dad and I published The Glen Rose Reporter in partnership from 1965 until his death. I sold the business in December of 2007 at age 67. I am married to the former Susan E. Sanford Webb on 22 Dec 1976. She had our only child, Tommy, now 46 years of age, whom I claim as my own.
Ed, I recognize the Weeden handle from family conversations remember little of the Iowa visit we took, probably in 1948 or 49. Recently, I began genealogy research on all lines of my families. My grandmother McCarty, Nora Helmer's mother was a Duncan and I got into a lengthy chase to the line back to Before Christ. Will begin work in earnest on the McCarty line later this year.
Susan and I will be in the London and Paris areas next month with our grandchildren, Samantha, 15, and Tanner, 13. We will enjoy a Disney-led tour of just over one week.
