Raymond Hossack, formerly of Ayrshire and Emmetsburg died at Veterans Administration Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on March 24th. Services were held on March 28th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer with Father Timothy Schott officiating.

Mr. Hossack was born on September 20, 1904, to Alex and Cora Dailey Hossack in Ayrshire. He lived in Emmetsburg during the 1940s and was in the automobile business with his brother, William.

A Veteran of World War II, Hossack was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Surviving are two brothers, William and J. Ivan, both of Spencer and a sister, Leona Wells of Sioux City.

Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery near Ayrshire. Pallbearers were Dan Degnan, Emmet Degnan, John Sweeney, Robert Dailey, John Brennan, and John Shelmidine. Military rites were performed by Ayrshire Legion Post #173 with the following sixteen Legionnaires participating, Jim Darr, Junior Wigen, Don Kassel, Vite Terveer, Bill Heiman, Leonard" Weishaar, Rodney Swanson, Joe # Thompson, Jim Leners, Charlie Rezabeck, Kenneth Ricklefs, Bob Heiman, Don Heiman, Kenneth Kassel, Harley Moodie, and Dick Kibbie. Taps were played by Jill Swanson and Steve Nelson.

Dinner was served in the Ayrshire Sacred Heart Hall by the ladies of Circle #1 of the Altar Society with Mrs. Jim Noonan as chairman and Mrs. Paul Rink, co-chairman.
