Richard Hennessy is Dead.

Mr. Richard Hennessy, brother of Mrs. Joseph Walsh, died at the home of the latter Friday evening after an illness dating since some time last fall. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon. Services were conducted at Assumption church. Father Youngblood officiating. The burial was in St. John's cemetery. The pall bearers were Frank McCormick, Daniel Murphy, John Biggins, M. A. Mogan, John McCormick and J. P. Carney.

The deceased was a native of Ireland. He was born in the county of Kilkenny in 1843. Hence he was 64 years of age. He came to the United States in 1866. He became a resident of Palo Alto county in 1874 and subsequently made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Walsh most of the time, though he traveled more or less from place to place, as he was not married, and was as a rule employed by others. He was a quiet, inoffensive man and would not intentionally wrong any one. Those who knew him well say that he was strictly honest and that, though he was never blessed with an abundance of the world's goods, he always made a special effort to meet his obligations. His death will be sincerely mourned by those who knew him intimately as well as by the immediate relatives.
