Services for Elizabeth Thilges, 91, of West Bend will be held Thursday, March 9, 10:30 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, West Bend. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, West Bend, where a rosary was recited at 5 p.m. and a parish Vigil Service was held at 7 p.m. Mrs. Thilges died Monday, March 6 at the West Bend Care Center.

Elizabeth A. Besch, the daughter of Theodore and Catherine (Kramer) Besch was born December 28, 1914 in Whittemore, Iowa. She was raised and received her education in Whittemore. On October 19, 1937 she was united in marriage with Sylvester Thilges. The couple lived and farmed in St. Joseph, Iowa, for one year before moving to West Bend where they farmed during their married lives. Elizabeth and Sylvester movedto town in 1977 and became residents at the West Bend Care Center in 1999.

Survivors include her three sons, James (Dea) Thilges of Clear Lake, Iowa, Glen (JoAnn) Thilges of West Bend and Ervin (Gayle) Thilges of West Bend, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sylvester in 2004, brothers Frank and Isodore, and sisters Margaret Krug and Clara Schumacher. Elizabeth was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Ladies Aid of the Church. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, flowers, and crocheting.

Arrangements handled by the Harris Funeral Home in West Bend.
