Mrs. John Redden is Dead.

Mrs. Eleanor Jones Redden, wife of John Redden, formerly of Emmetsburg, died at Ruthven Friday evening, June 17th. The funeral was held Saturday. The remains were taken to Sacred Heart church at that place where services were conducted by the pastor, Father McCafferay, after which they were brought to her parents’ home near Milford where many intimate friends of the family gathered to attend the last sad rites and to listen to a few touching words concerning the sad affair by her pastor. The latter accompanied the funeral to the cemetery.

Eleanor Jones was born in Mitchell county, Iowa, June 3, 1876. Some years ago her parents moved to Dickinson county. June 5, 1896, she became the wife of John Redden. They lived at Milford for some time. Then they moved to Emmetsburg, remaining for a few months after which they went to Ayrshire. Mr. Redden is a blacksmith by trade. Last year they located at Ruthven. The deceased leaves three little boys of promise to mourn the loss of a loving Christian mother such as all know Mrs. Redden to have been. The cause of her death was blood poisoning. She was 27 years of age.

Mrs. Redeen was a convert to the Catholic faith and a most worthy one, this too, by the good will and best wishes of her people who believe in one faith in the home She will be sadly missed by all. The sympathy of the community is extended to the husband, children and the relatives.
