Clarinda's name

CLARK, ELLIS, KING

I am very curious to find the history behind the name of the town of Clarinda. Our family legend says my ggggrandmother Clarinda Clark Ellis King was the teacher for whom the town was named. The history says Clarinda Buck. Does anyone know anything about Ms. Buck?
