Page County Soldier Dead

Arthur Hill, a Lad from near College Springs, Dies at naval Staion

Shenandoah, IA: Jan. 26 - The first Page County lad to give his life for the United States is Arthur Hill, who died at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Great Lakes Naval training station.

He had been in service seven weeks. His mother, who lives about half way between Coin and College Springs, was at his bedside when he died.

Hill was 21 years old. The body will be brought to College Springs and the funeral held there Sunday. Measles followed by bronchial pneumonia is said to have been the cause of his death.

The mother returned home yesterday and the body will be brought later.
