Death of an Old Resident.
Word comes to us this week that Daniel McIntosh died on August 20th at the Clarinda hospital after suffering for months from dropsy and liver trouble. Mr. McIntosh was a member of the well known family of the same name that have long been residents of Winneshiek county. He was one of ten sons and was born on July 30, 1834, in Columbiana Co., Ohio, coming to Iowa with his parents in 1855 and residing here until 1870 when he moved to Page Co. where he has lived ever since. He was a carpenter by trade. He was married in 1861 to Mary E. Riggin and one daughter, (Mrs. W. L. Stump of Springdale, Ark.) was born to them. Mr. McIntosh is survived by four brothers and one sister — J. McIntosh of Corning. Alex. McIntosh of Cresco, William McIntosh and Mrs. Margery Crawford of Decorah, and John M. McIntosh of Wellsville, Ohio. The Clarinda Herald spoke of the deceased as one of the respected citizens of Page county and a faithful member of the Presbyterian church.
