Betty Barragar Glines Erickson, age 76 of Adel, Iowa, passed away January 14, 2004, at Mercy Hospital, Des Monies, Iowa Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 16, 2004 at Walker-Merrick, with Pastor Gordon Harmon officiating. Visitation with the family was held 7-8 p.m., Thursday, January 15, 2004, at the funeral home. Burial was in the Clarinda Cemetery. A memorial will be established. Walker-Merrick was in charge of arrangements. Betty was born April 4, 1927, to William H. Barragar and Hazel E. (Neville) Barragar in Clarinda, Iowa. Betty was a member of Clarinda High School class of 1945. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Clarinda, Iowa. In 1943, Betty was married to Eldon Glines to this marriage 4 children were born. She married Earl Erickson in 1962. Betty and Earl moved to Exira, Iowa in 1963. In 1969 she went to Clarinda Community College, transferred to Iowa State University in 1970, graduating in 1973 and going on to become a registered dietician. She moved to Adel, Iowa in 1980. Betty is survived by husband, Earl Erickson of Adel, Iowa two sons, Gary and Jonna Glines of Shenandoah, Iowa, James and Susan Erickson of Atlantic, Iowa two daughters, Dianna and Chris Davison of Braddyville, Iowa, Joyce and Laverne Akers of Mountain View, Arkansas daughter-in-law, Janice Glines of Windsor, Colorado 16 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren 2 step great grandchildren and expecting her 1st great, great grandchild sisters, Norma Lawson of Clarinda, Iowa, Shirley Harbour of Omaha, Nebraska, Arlene Alstadt of San Bernadino, California 4 sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents one sister and two brothers in infancy sister, Billie Joyce Rice one great grandson and son, Ron Glines.
