Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the American Lutheran Church in Melvin for Mrs. Dora Fink. Officiating clergyman was Rev. J.H. Reents of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley. Nancy Steinmetz, organist, accompanied Mrs. Kenneth Graves and Mrs. Rudy Hokuf, who sang "Just As I Am" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Mrs. Fink passed away Wednesday, July 25, in the Verdon nursing home where she had been a resident for the past three months.

Dora Schaffer Fink was born June 28, 1878 at Keystone, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schaffer. Her childhood days were spent in Nebraska and Iowa.

On September 15, 1897 she was united in marriage with Henry Fink of Melvin. This union was blessed with eight children. They farmed east of Melvin for 36 years.

Mr. Fink based away February 23, 1932. Several years after the death of her husband Mrs. Fink moved to Melvin to reside with her daughter, Mrs. Blanche Lyman.

When a young woman she was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church located north of Melvin at that time. She remained faithful to the church throughout her lifetime. She was a charter member of the Ladies Aid. The last 15 years of her life were spent as an invalid. Being unable to attend church services, her pastors ministered to her in her home.

She is survived by seven children: Mrs. Leon Guertin, Sibley; Forest Fink of Little Rock; Floyd Fink of Orangevale, Calif.; Mrs. FLoyd Heiller of Ocheyedan; Victor Fink, Mrs. Blanche Lyman and Mrs. Garret Fransen, all of Melvin. She also leaves to mourn her passing two brothers, George and August Schaffer of Slayton, Minn.; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her husband, three sisters and three brothers.

Pallbearers were: Clarence Schaffer, Alfred Leth, George Brunk, Clarence Sorensen, Geo. Schaffer and Harold Schaffer. A family service was held at the church preceding the service. Burial was in the Baker Township Cemetery. The Sanborn Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
