Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 10, at 1:30 at First Presbyterian Church at Ashton for Mrs. Simon DeBoom, 52, who died at St. Luke's Medical Center in Sioux City on Dec, 6. Rev. Floyd Bowerman officiated, with burial in Holman Township Cemetery, Sibley.

Mary Luella DeBoom was born Oct. 24, 1921, at Lake Charles, Louisiana the daughter of Otto and Margaret Dickman Mohr. She attended the Melvin Iowa schools. She was married to Simon DeBoom on April 3, 1940, at her parent’s home at Melvin. They farmed one year at Melvin and then to their farm near Sibley. She was active in her church and was a member of West Holman Homemakers.

Mrs. DeBoom is survived by her husband, Simon, two sons: Gary Gene of Ashton and Kermit Jon at home; arid one daughter, Margaret Ann of Minneapolis, her parents, one sister, Mavis (Mrs. Ronald Ware, Cleveland, Ohio. She was preceded in death by one sister.
