Freda A. Maust, 82,of Lansing, Iowa, died Monday, October 9, 1989 at Veterans Memorial Hospital,
Waukon. She was born November 4, 1906, in Melvin, Iowa, to Frederick and Lillian (Jacobs) Graves. On July 2, 1924 she married Robert Maust in Sanborn, Iowa. They were residents of the Lansing area for over 50 years. Freda was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ in New Albin. Survivors include her husband, Robert, of Lansing, currently residing at the Great River Care Center in McGregor; one son, Robert B. Maust, Jr., New Albin, IA; two daughters, Marjorie Steiber, Lansing and Donna Kerkow, Minneapolis, MN; eleven grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 12, 1989 at United Methodist Church, Lansing, with Pastor Tom Mattson officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Alan Steiber, Byron Steiber, Daryl Steiber, Dennis Smith, Danny Maust, Scott Maust, Kent Maust, and Douglas Kerkow. Source: Burke Thornburg Funeral card, Lansing, Iowa
