O. J. Gillis Passes

Oscar J, Gillis died Monday morning of a complication of diseases at his home in Sibley. Mr. Gillis was, born November 16, 1866, at Bloomington, Wis. He lived with his parents until be was 26 years of age, when he came to Osceola county and homesteaded on a farm near Cloverdale.

Mr. Gillis was married to Agnes Carney March 13, 1884. Twenty-six years ago Mr. and Mrs. Gillis moved to their present home in Sibley, where they have since lived. Besides the wife four daughters survive him: Mrs. L. E. Philliphs, Sibley; Mrs. P. E. Cleveland, Kanaranzi, Minn.; Mrs. H. G. Cleveland, Ellsworth, Minn.: Fern Gillis. A brother, Will Gillis of Bloomington, who will come to the funeral; and two sisters, Mrs. Joe Powers, Fennimore, Wis., and Mrs. Pete Gilberson of California, are also survivors.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the Methodist church of which he was a-member at 2 o'clock, Rev. Harvey Travis officiating. Burial will be in the local cemetery.
