Lorraine Elzenga, age 80 of Sibley, Iowa died Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.

Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, April 23rd at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley, with Reverend Terry Simm officiating.

Burial will follow in the Gilman Township Cemetery of Ashton.

Lorraine Joyce Elzenga was born on October 6, 1927, the daughter of Jake and Hattie (Houwen) Menage in Ashton, Iowa. She grew up in the Ashton, Rock Rapids and Sibley areas, and graduated from Sibley High School.

On October 25, 1962, Lorraine was united in marriage to Donald Elzenga. The couple lived in Seattle, WA for two years, then moved back to Sibley, where they have resided ever since.

Lorraine was employed as a Lab Technician at the Osceola Community Hospital for a number of years before retiring.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sibley.

Lorraine is survived by her husband of forty-five years, Donald W. Elzenga of Sibley; one brother, Peter (wife Leona) Menage of Sibley; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter in infancy, Diane Susan Elzenga, four sisters, Tracey Schoolmeester, Esther Meester, Mabel Tuinstra and Evelyn Lopau; one brother, William Menage.
