Lucy Post was born on March 4, 1917 in Holland. She was the daughter of Ben and Janna (Bos) DeBoer. When she was 3 years old, she moved with her family to Platt, South Dakota later moving to California and finally her family settled in Bigelow, Minnesota, where she attended a country school.

She was united in marriage to Andrew Post of Ocheyedan, Iowa on February 8, 1940 at her parents' home in Bigelow. They lived and farmed in rural Ocheyedan for six years, later moving south of Worthington, Minnesota. They farmed near Blooming Prairie, Minnesota from 1953 until their retirement in 1980, when they moved to Sibley, Iowa.

While living in Blooming Prairie, Lucy was a member of the First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Ladies Aid President and Church Treasurer.

While living in Sibley, Lucy was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a Bible Study Leader.
Lucy was a student of the Bible and her greatest love was sharing her Christian faith with everyone.

She enjoyed reading,crocheting, and making quilts for missions. A highlight of her life was their many winter travels and trip to Brazil.

Andrew passed away on December 8, 2005. They had been married for 65 years.

In 2005, Lucy moved to Three Links Care Center in Northfield, Minnesota, where she passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the age of 95.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children: Henry and Lucy Post of Blooming Prairie, MN, Janet and Louis Rowe of Richmond, MO, Tena and Wesley Oliveira of Riverview, FL, Ben and Linda Post of Council Bluffs, IA, Loretta and Paul Lassahn of Montgomery, MN; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; one brother: Percy DeBoer of Albert Lea, MN; one sister: Alice Wolters of Mankato, MN; one brother-in-law: George Steensma of Luverne, MN; one sister-in-law: Sadie DeBoer of Albert Lea, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Andrew; her parents; one infant grandson: Brent Hugh Post; 2 sisters: Hattie and Harry Steensma, Marie Steensma; 2 brothers: Henry and Marlys DeBoer, William DeBoer; brother-in-law: Robert Wolters.
