Age: 56 years, 7 months and 16 days

Steve Hromatko, age 56, of Harris, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Ocheyedan. Rev. Shannon Paschual officiating.

Steven Leroy Hromatko was born on March 20, 1955, in Sibley, Iowa. He was the son of Leroy John and Margaret Lorene (Graham) Hromatko. He lived his youth in Ocheyedan, Iowa, where he attended school and graduated from high school.

He was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Ocheyedan.

He was united in marriage to Dona Lu Gronewold of Round Lake, Minnesota on June 10, 1975 in Ocheyedan. They lived in Ocheyedan, Lake Park and presently in Harris, Iowa.

Steve worked at Stylecraft in Milford, Iowa, for 20 years, Lake Park Elevator for 5 years, and Sudenga Industries in George, Iowa, from 1999 to the present.

Steve loved the outdoors, riding motorcycle, snowmobiling, camping, being by the river, trees, wilderness, mountains, and vacationing. He was a NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed mowing the lawn and gardening.

He grew a 150 to 200 pound pumpkin, just for fun.

Steve will be remembered as a caring person who enjoyed visiting and staying close to his family. He called his children and mother frequently and would always say "I Love You" before saying good-bye.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 36 years: Dona Hromatko of Harris, IA; his children: Jamie Lee and wife Kizze Hromatko of Milford, IA, and their children: Dalton of Rock Valley, IA, Kailye and Peyton of Milford, IA; Trisha Mae and husband Jeremy Neppl of Spirit Lake, IA, and their children: Camilla and Brock of Spirit Lake, IA; Christopher Jon Hromatko of Iowa City, IA; his mother: Margaret L. Hromatko of Ocheyedan, IA; one brother: Michael John and wife Janet Hromatko of Polk City, IA; two sisters: Kathy Marie and husband Ron Spengler of Ocheyedan, IA, Danelle Lynette and husband Denny Nelson of Lake Park, IA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy John Hromatko and his grandparents, John and Leola Graham and John and Fern Hromatko.
