Age: 89 years, 9 months and 13 daysMarvin Claus, age 89, of Ocheyedan, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at the Country View Manor in Sibley.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 27, 2006, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan. Rev. Russell Anderson officiating.

Marvin Ernest Claus was born on June 9, 1916, in Harris, Iowa. He was the son of Herman and Anna (Dass) Claus. He lived his youth in rural Ocheyedan, Iowa, where he attended school at Zion Lutheran, Horton Township and Randall School, north of Ocheyedan.
He was united in marriage to Marjorie Bass of Clinton, Missouri, on June 24, 1942, in Sedalia, Missouri. They farmed in the Ocheyedan and Allendorf, area, until 1968. Marvin worked for Graves Lumber Yard in Melvin, Iowa, Chase Bag in Sibley, Iowa, and drove truck for Bill Timmons', Bosma's, and Vander Muelen's in Ocheyedan. He retired in 1976.
Marvin and Marjorie, and daughter, Ruie, moved into Ocheyedan, in 1991.
Marvin enjoyed fishing, playing croquet with the grandchildren, gardening, fixing anything mechanical, remodeling the upstairs at home, and wintering in Texas for 14 years.
He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan.
He passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at the Country View Manor in Sibley.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife: Marjorie Claus of Ocheyedan, Iowa; one son and daughter-in-law: Larry and Karola Claus of Hensley, AR; one daughter: Ruie Claus of Ocheyedan, IA; one grandson: Jeff and Cynthia Claus of Las Vegas, NV; three granddaughters: Jennifer Riechmann of Little Rock, AR, Jenjer Claus of Atlanta, GA; Jaime and Marcus Harris of N. Little Rock, AR; one great-granddaughter: Kaitlyn Riechmann; one great-grandson: Skylar Harris; one brother: Donald and Alta Claus of Spencer, IA; one sister-in-law: Evelyn Claus of Ocheyedan, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Harold Claus (infant) and Erwin Claus; one sister: Phyllis Dilly; one daughter-in-law: Ruth Dean Claus.
