Lucy Bosma, age 82, of Sibley, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Country View Manor in Sibley.

Memorial Services will be Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Christian Reformed Church in Sibley. Rev. Roger Bouwman officiating.

Graveside Services will be Tuesday, June 12 at 10:15 A.M. at the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley.

Lucy Bosma was born on April 28, 1930 in Boyden, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Allie (Langstraat) Dekkenga. She lived her youth in Matlock, Iowa and attended school in Sheldon, Iowa where she graduated from high school.

She was united in marriage to Andrew Bosma of Ocheyedan, Iowa on July 14, 1949 in Matlock, Iowa. They lived in Sibley, Iowa where Lucy worked for John Dirksen in carpet sales and also as a waitress at Chuck's Café.

Andy passed away on May 24, 1990.

Lucy was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Sibley where she was a Sunday School Teacher and organizer for the kitchen and kitchen groups for over 20 years.

Lucy had a generous heart for helping people, sending greeting cards and giving to her family and friends. She enjoyed boat rides, having fun, music, and working with her flowers.

She passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Country View Manor in Sibley.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children: Laverne and Connie Bosma of Sibley, Iowa, Jan and special friend Barb LeDoux of Fargo, ND, Jackie Bosma of Rosemount, MN; her grandchildren: Cory and Connie Bosma of Sibley, IA; Stacey and Darin Montgomery of Apple Valley, MN, Mindy and Ben Sheplee of Fairmont, MN; and five great-grandchildren; four brothers: Louie and Freda Dekkenga of Ocheyedan, IA, Martin Dekkenga of Sioux Center, IA, Willis Dekkenga of Wausau, WI, John and Shirley Dekkenga of Minneapolis, MN; one sister-in-law: Evelyn Dekkenga of Sheldon, IA.

She was preceded in death by her husband Andy, son Allen Bosma, two brothers Herman Dekkenga and Case Dekkenga, two sisters Angie Baker and Anna Bomgaars.
