Albert Ihnen Family

Albert Henry Ihnen and Bertha Elise Fechter were married February 5, 1894, at Flannagan, Illinois.

Albert Henry Ihnen was born April 12, 1869, at Oldenberg, Germany. He came to America when he was 18 years old and worked in Illinois. Bertha Elise Fechter was born July 23, 1875, in Livingston County, Illinois. They moved to Marcus, Iowa, where they farmed for 14 years. The Ihnen's came to a farm southeast of Harris in 1908. In September, 1939, they moved to their home in Lake Park, Iowa.

Albert passed away October 24, 1939, of a heart attack. Bertha continued living in Lake Park; her flowers, garden and yard kept her busy. In 1960, she entered the Good Samaritan Home at Estherville, Iowa, where she passed away February 5, 1964.

The Ihnen's were members of Harris St. John’s Lutheran Church, where most of the family members were confirmed.

The children were: Henry, deceased; Fred, deceased; Elsie, Zimmerman, Minnesota; Harry, deceased; Maggie, deceased; Sadie, Albert Lea, Minnesota; Raymond, Round Lake, Minnesota; Ethel, Hartley, Iowa; Ben, Round Lake, Minnesota; Vernon, Everly, Iowa; Reed, Conrad, Montana; Rena, deceased.
