Mrs Dorothea H. Rohwer Dead

Mrs. Dorothea H. Rohwer died at her home in Paullina Tuesday, February 17th after an illness with pneumonia. All that the loving care her children could give her was done until the last, her life slowly ebbing away for several days. The funeral service was held in her home this (Thursday) afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by her pastor, Rev. H. F. Williams of the Presbyterian church, who spoke very comfortingly to the sorrowing family.

Mrs. Dorothea H. Boller-Rohwer was born March 5, 1844 in Johnnisdorf, Guldenstein, Germany, and was 75 years, 1 months and 2 days old at the time of her death. In 1857 she came to America, locating at Rock Island, Illinois, where she was married to Jurgen Rohwer on December 27, 1861. In 1869 she and her husband moved to Tama County, living on a farm there for fourteen years. The family then moved to Paullina, making their home on a farm east of town in Liberty township. In the spring of 1905 they gave up farming and moved to town, where Mr. Rohwer died on April 23 of that year.

Twelve children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Rohwer, nine of whom survive the parents. They are: Mrs. D.H. Harrington of Sioux City; John Rohwer of Rushmore, Minnesota; Mrs. C. H. Jenner of Sutherland; Rudolph Rohwer, Mrs. Henry Schierholz, Berbard Rohwer, Mrs. Fred Hilbert, all of Paullina; Mrs. G. H. Mehrens of Hartley and Herman K. Rohwer of Gaza.

Interment was in Prairie View Cemetery beside her husband.
