Henry John Theodore Bobzien

Henry John Theodore Bobzien was born May 20, 1871 near Iowa City in Johnson county, Iowa. Baptized in his infancy in the faith of the Lutheran church, he later renewed the baptismal covenant in the rite of confirmation.

On May 29, 1895, he was married in Saint Mark's church, near Blairstwon, Iowa to Miss Emma Jergemeier. Two children were bron to this union: Irvin Bobzien and Mrs. Wm. Kuehl, both of Hartley.

In the year 1900, Mr. Bobzien came with his family to O'Brien county and moved on a farm seven miles south of Hartley. Three years later he moved to the farm west of town where he resided until the time of his death.

About three years ago, the disease was first noticed which took his life. An operation in 93 proved to be in vain. Gradually failing since that time, he passed away last Wednesday morning, March 29, at the age of 61 years, 8 months and 9 days.

He leaves to mourn his death his widow and two children already mentioned; two brothers, John Bobzien of Hartley, and Louis Bozien of Courtland, Minnesota; four sisters: Mrs. Sophie Jones and Mrs. Martha Jones of Royal, Mrs Mary Buelow and Mrs. Matilda Bauserman of Des Moines; two grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for the deceased were held last Saturday at the Lutheran church in charge of A.C. Weber. Interment was made in Pleasant View Cemetery.
