BUD STEINMETZ FUNERAL WEDNESDAY

Funeral services for Otto "Bud" Steinmetz were held at Trinity United Church of Christ Wednesday, August 1, at 10:30 a.m. Reverend Bernard Sayler officiated. Organist was Mrs. George Mills. Committal was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley.

Otto Herbert "Bud" Steinmetz, the son of Henry and Anna Romer Steinmetz, was born March 4, 1914 at Sanborn, Iowa. He graduated from Melvin High School in 1932 and Mankato Commercial College in 1935.

He was united in marriage to Mary Jo Steiner on June 30, 1939, at Luverne, Minnesota. They lived in Melvin and Sibley before moving to Hartley in 1946. Bud owned and operated his own Petroleum Dealershi for many years, affiliated with Phillips Petroleum. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ at Hartley.

He passed away at the hospital in Hartley on July 30, 1979, at the age of 65. Preceding him in death were his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, three sons, Scott and his wife, Pat of Hartley, Eric of Millville, Minnesota and Mark and his wife Patricia of Duluth, Minnesota; one daughter and her husband, Cynthia and Bill Mateer of Sheffield, Iowa; three grandchildren: Jody Steinmetz and Joshua and Rafer Mateer; Kurt of Sibley; and one sister Mr.s K. W. (Martha) Graves of Melvin, as well as many other relatives and friends.
