uneral services were held at the Methodist church in Peterson Sunday afternoon at two o'clock for Mrs. Melvin Alcorn, a former resident of this city who passed away at her home at Fox Lake, Minnesota on Friday. The body was brought to Peterson in the Fastenow Funeral Coach Saturday night. Mrs. Alcorn was the daughter of Edwin Hall and had many relatives and friends here. Rev. H.V. Bartz officiated at the services and Mrs. Claire Woolston and Mrs. Basil Deegan sang, accompanied by Mrs. Ivan Reed at the piano. Interment was made in the Peterson cemetery.

Obituary

Myrtle Florence Hall, daughter of Edwin and Zella Hall, was born in O'Brien County near Peterson on July 5, 1891. She died at Fox Lake, Minnesota on July 26, 1940 at the age of 49 years and 21 days.

On November 25, 1908, she was married to Melvin Allen Alcorn and to this unionn, eight children were born: James Edwin of Los Angeles, Californ; Erma Mae of Fox Lake, Minnesota, Vera Lillian of Boone, Robert Allen of Firt Lewis, Washington, and Volet Elizabeth, Charlotte Ruth, Melvin, Jr. and Winifred June.

Mr. and Mrs. Alcorn and family moved from Peterson to Rutland in 1933, and in 1938 moved to Fox Lake, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her mother, a brother, Fred, and a sister, Jennie.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, her eight children, her father, Edwin W. Hall, of Peterson, her grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
