SERVICES HELD AUGUST 26 FOR OTTO POLSON SR.

Services in memory of Otto Polson Sr. were held at the United Methodist Church in Hartley Tuesday morning, August 26, with Rev. William Tomlinson officiating.

The casket bearers were Rudy Drath, Ron Hennirig, Barb Dillingham, Cory Kunzmann, Myron Ebel and Bob Jensen.

Burial was at the Pleasant View Cemetery at Hartley with the Baumgarten. Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Otto Poison Sr., the son of Pal and Christina Johanson Bengtsson was born April 20, 1904 at Laholm, Haland, Sweden. He attended eight years of Melby School. He came to the United States in November of 1918 to farm near Fielding, Iowa.

He was united in marriage to Lorna Voss on December 11, 1932 at Sioux City, Iowa. They farmed near Fielding for two years, then moved to a farm at Marcus and in 1942 to a farm near Hartley. They retired and moved to town in 1970.

He passed away at the hospital in Hartley on August 23, 1980 at the age of 76. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother and three sisters.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lorna; two sons and their wives, Douglas and Alice Polson of Sioux City and Otto Jr. and Irene Polson of Hartley; six grandchildren, two brothers, Gottfried and Edwin of Cherokee and one sister, Nannie Duvall of Cherokee, other relatives and friends.
