Services Held June 2 for Evah M. Skaar

Evah Maude nee Johnson Skaar, the daughter of James W. and Erminnie Reaney Johnson, was born December 31, 1897 in Paullina, Iowa. She attended school at Paullina and graduated from Paullina high school and graduated from Buena Vista College at Storm Lake, Iowa.

On June 29, 1925, she married Jacob Skaar, who preceded her in death in 1944. She taught school in several Northwest Iowa communities and in California before her retirement in 1963.

Evah passed away May 29, 1975 after a brief illness at Yuma, Arizona.

Survivors are a son, James E. Skaar of Yuma, Arizona; a daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Marilyn) Petersen of Lancaster, California; three grandchildren, JoDee Petersen, Lori Petersen and Steven Petersen; and one sister, Hazel Ullman of Hettinger, North Dakota.

Services were held Friday, May 30 in the Johnson Mortuary Chapel at Yuma, Arizona with Rev. Dale Conrad officiating. Memorial service were held Monday, June 2 at the Gaudian Funeral Home in Paullina, with her nephew, Rev. Elroy Skaar of Sioux Falls officiating. Interment was at [WEST] Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina.

Mrs. Skaar was an aunt of Mrs. Frank Hons of Paullina.
