Services Held Here for Bernard Flaugh

Funeral services were held here Friday afternoon for Bernard Flaugh, Archer farmer, who died of a heart attack October 19 at the Flaugh home. Services were held at the Siloam Lutheran Church with the Rev. P.L. Kvitne officiating. Burial was in [West] Prairie View Cemetery here.

Bernard Flaugh was born September 5, 1918 at Hartington, Nebraska. He attended school for eight years in Nebraska before he came to Iowa. On November 8, 1942, he was married to Lillian Stangeland. To them, four children were born.

Mr. Flaugh spent four years in the US Army serving in Africa, Sicily, and Italy. Following his discharge from the armed forced he has farmed the past 14 years.

On October 12 he suddenly became ill and died late that day at the age of 51 years, 1 month, and 7 days. He is survived by his widow, Lillian, and four children, Barbara Ann, Loren, Beverly, and Arian, all at home. Five brothers, Logan of National City, California, Orval of Homer, Nebraska, Oliver of Sioux City, Marvin of Hubbard, Nebraska, and Calvin of Rock Island, Illinois. Three sisters, Mrs. R.W. Mathiesen of Buno Park, California, Mrs. D. M. Countryman of Huntington Park, California, and Mrs. Melvin Linafelter of Emerson, Nebraska.

One sister and his parents preceded him in death.
