To this second marriage two children were born, Mrs. Alvina Praether of Milwaukee, Wis., and Rufus of Early. They also adopted two sons, Walter of Waterloo and Ferdinand, who preceded him in death.

After a lingering illness Mr. Mau died Aug. 9 at 4:45 p.m. at the Lutheran hospital in Fort Dodge, at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 21 days.

Surviving besides his wife and children mentioned above are 18 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three brothers, Carl of Wilkesbarre, Pa., Julius of Holstein,
